Today, I started a new poem and finished cleaning out my home apothecary. These seem like frivolous activities yet for someone like me I always have some magic brewing, so today a bit of aromatic wisdom.

a Victorian Valentine

as a Sweetness

has encountered me

out of the ether

Sweetness is a word I do not use without great thought. When something is sweet, the sensation becomes a new beginning: the sweetness of the smell of the air on a fresh day, the sweetness of the taste of a piece of chocolate, the sweetness of the feeling of a lover's touch, the sweetness of the glimmer of a Sunrise, and so many more lovely experiences - you can fill in the blanks yourself.

All the same, I did indeed wake up thinking about how to aim cupid's arrow at Anahata, the Heart Chakra. My brain went straight from meditation to brewing a cappuccino, then to potions, and onward poetry. If you saw my TikTok you saw my creation of "Love Potion #11".

The first choice is to wear this Spell-Casting Essence

This blend of Rose and Bergamot is a fitting combination that stimulates the senses and arouses romantic tendencies. Wear Love Potion #11 as you would any perfume.

A Love Beckoning Ritual

You will need:

❤️ One pink or white candle ( when in doubt use white)

❤️ One drop or two of Love Potion #11

❤️ A beautiful piece of paper or stationery

❤️ A pinch of both dried Rose Petals and Jasmine Flowers

What to do:

1. On one side of the stationery write a love letter to yourself.
2. On the opposite side write a love letter to your Lover, or soon-to-be...
3. Anoint the candle with a drop or two of Love Potion #11
   (careful not to get the candle wick in oil)
4. Roll the anointed candle in a bit of crushed, dried Rose Petals and Jasmine Flowers
5. Burn the candle as you read the letters aloud to yourself.

You will more than likely feel refreshed, maybe even a bit blushed after stating your affection. Use this feeling and a smile to let the universe know what your amorous intentions are!
