Good morning.
I am loving the snow right now—and that’s something I don’t say very often.

Winter has a way of slowing everything down, inviting stillness and reflection. Snow always brings me back to one of my favorite quotes by Albert Camus:

“In the depths of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer.”

It feels like the perfect doorway into today’s teaching.

I Ching Hexagram 28: The Great Exceeding

This morning I threw I Ching Hexagram 28 — The Great Exceeding. Its message is clear: it’s time to lighten the load. We are walking between worlds during a moment when things feel a little out of balance—both personally and collectively.

Hexagram 28 reminds me of hiking a forest trail and coming upon a small creek. There’s often a simple plank laid across the water—not perfect, not sturdy-looking, maybe even a little uneven. You hesitate. It doesn’t look entirely trustworthy. And yet… it holds.

That plank is still part of Gaia. Earth, water, fire, air—there is always more support beneath us than we realize.

Strengthening the Inner Temple

This is a time to reinforce the plank.
To strengthen the columns that hold your inner temple.
To lighten your psychic and emotional load.

Place what truly matters on your altar—whether that altar is literal or symbolic.
Let the rest go.

Release what you’ve been carrying out of habit, fear, or obligation. Balance returns when we stop overburdening the structure.

Speaking of columns... my adhd brain brought me back to the sixth-grade history classes, and I went down a rabbit hole and literally just found the funniest meme ever. You’re welcome.

Winter as a Season of Integration

This past month has been filled with fire for me—manifestation ceremonies, release rituals, and teaching others how to consciously call things in and how to let things go. Both are equally important.

True harmony strengthens our integrity. And when integrity is strong, there is nothing to hide, nothing to be ashamed of.

Winter reminds us to support and nourish ourselves.

It feels very much like The Hermit in Tarot—a sacred inward turn. A time to let the heart be guided by a still mind. To walk gently between inner and outer worlds. To release the urge to predict the future and instead tend to the present moment.

This is a powerful season to:

  • Free yourself from harmful influences

  • Correct negative thought patterns

  • Consciously release what no longer serves

  • Rest, meditate, and spend time in nature

  • Learn something new and tend your inner fire

Ritual, Fire, and Honest Work

On a very practical note, I’m home today—fingers crossed the power stays on—and continuing my ongoing ritual of hauling wood into my little cottage. Feeding the fire. Staying warm. Burning off what no longer belongs.

There’s something deeply honest about that kind of work—physical, grounding, elemental, yet... I am truly considering manifesting myself a lumberjack… kidding. Not kidding.

An Invitation: Snow Moon Half-Day Retreat

If this reflection resonates with you, I invite you to join me one week from today for my Snow Moon Half-Day Retreat.

The Snow Moon is my favorite full moon of the year—a time of clarity, reflection, and deep restoration. You’re welcome to attend the full retreat (which includes a Full Moon Sound Bath), or simply join us for the Evening Snow Moon Sound Bath on its own.

Either way, I would love to see you.

As we float into February, I’m feeling deeply grateful. We’ve already begun the year with Sound Healing, Tarot Certification, and Vision Boarding.

We have a Reiki Refresher coming up, and I’m currently organizing new Reiki Certification classes. If you are interested in any of these:

and been feeling the call of Reiki Healing, now is the time to reach out.

More witchy offerings are already brewing. Valentine's Day is on the horizon! I have new goodies coming in for your Loves.

Sending you love, warmth, and steadiness as we walk this winter path together.

XO Jen
